Google Once Again In Trouble. This Time Its Nexus One

By: George Keller

Google Nexus had created sensation even before it had been out. Before its launch, the chat that Google was getting into cell phone industry was something that didn't go down properly with all. And just following launch, the fact that Google Nexus turned out to be as expected and not more than what Google fans has predicted disappointed people. And now after days following the phone's release, here is yet another problem - Google phone is being sued for its name Nexus One.

The name Nexus One is claimed to be copied from Philip K Dicks book 'Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep?'. The author's daughter has contacted the press accusing Google of choosing the name of the phone from her father's book with no talking to them.

Wheather the name is seriously copied from the novel or not is unsure. Google naturally will deny the accusation. But the writer's daughter seems to be reluctant to dissuade and not follow up on Google. If the problem gets major, they may possibly have to get the legal help. And if Google losses the case, a big amount will have to be given on the writer's daughter (A lot may possibly say, the situation is being raised only to get good money. Like Motorola had to pay in order to make use of the name Droid). Google anyway in recent times is confronting troubles from all corners - there is this Apple-Google war, Google is soon going to be out of iPhone (Bing will come in place of Google search engine on iPhone), touch screen issue with Apple and what not. Looks like Google's step into cell phone market is causing a good deal of issues.

Sometime back Google was much like the King in the internet business (it still tops) but with so many issues and dissapointments (with reference to Google Phone), tables may possibly turn really soon.

Let's see how things go about and who wins.
