Ambuja Cement

By: Mark Siders

Ambuja cement is a company that was started in 1986. However a young company ambuja cement has gained a vast amount of growth and has a cement capacity of over eighteen million tons. Ambuja has three main subsidiaries. Once is ambuja cement rajasthan Limited ( ACRL for short ) , Ambuja Cement eastern Limted ( ACEL for short) and Ambuja Cement India Limited ( ACIL for short )
Ambuja cement was the first company to introduce the idea of bulk cement having to do with movement by sea in India. Because of this massive change in how cement was normally transported, the cement was transported faster and brought many other coaster markets that were not in reach within reach of the fast growing company. Ambuja cement has a fleet of seven ships all of which port at Muldwaka, Gujarat. This port is great for transporting cement because it is all weather and can handle ships with 40,00 DWT. The seven ships ambuja cement uses has a capacity of 20500 DWT to carry the bulk cement in large packaged units. Ambuja cement also has bulk cement terminals in other places such as Surat, Panvel and Galle. And not surprising the Surat terminal has a massive storage capacity of 15,000 tonnes . However the Panvel has a greater capacity by being able to hold 17,500 tonnes. Both Surat and Panvel have bulk cement unloading facilities.
Ambuja cement is in the process of expanding. Ambuja cement is expanding their clinker capacity by over four million tonnes. They also want to increase the cement capacity by six million tonnes and the powder generation capacity by 178 MW at many different locations . Once the expanding is complete for all of these projects the cement capacity for Ambuja cement will have gone from sixteen million tonnes to twenty-two million tonnes. The expanding of Ambuja Cement is worth a lot of money and many are looking forward to it.
